Federal HST Tactical ammo from Federal was specially designed for Law Enforcement agencies. One of the most consistent performing cartridges when put through the FBI’s test to measure expansion, penetration, weight retention, and wound cavity through realistic barriers, Federal HST is often considered the ultimate self-defense handgun ammunition. This load features a 230gr deep, tapered JHP bullet with co-aligned internal and external skiving which helps its expansion. This version of the round is loaded to +P pressure, which leads to slightly deeper penetration on average than the standard pressure load. It is important to note that most tests show that this load is still unlikely to overpenetrate according to the FBI standards, which is why it is still one of the most preferred self-defense handgun ammo options out there.
